Glorious Cross April 18
(The Crosier) has a psychological strength with which he knows how to balance his life (Profile of the Congolese Crosier).
Resurrection begins with our life here on this earth. The grace of Jesus saves the whole person: body, mind, will, emotion, heart and spirit. Like Christ, the person who will rise on the last day will lose no dimension of humanity. Christ keeps the whole of his humanity, now glorified, before his Father. The same eternal life, Jesus said, is already in the believer (Jn 3:36). It is a leaven that ferments the person of the disciple to the point of final transformation. That was the experience of our father Augustine, especially regarding his capacity to balance the forces of his personality. In his youth, his appetites, his sentiments, his passions were stormy. He was frantic in trying to satisfy them. But finally he came to an inner peace. How? He did what Paul demanded, “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Rm 13:14). From the moment of his conversion in the garden, Augustine understood that the only liberation from his interior slavery was Christ with the power of his Resurrection. Accepting Christ, he accepted to be renewed from the depth of his personality as a man of interior balance. Christ became his power to calm the storms of his heart and to confront in that calm the social upheavals of his times that impacted him. His resurrection in Christ had already begun.
Where your enemy prepares a tomb, God will give you a way out. (Burundi)
