Glorious Cross May 10
(The Crosier) witnesses to the gifts of the Spirit in his life (Profile).
Everywhere where the Spirit of the Risen Christ passes he leaves evidence of his presence. These are the proofs of divine activity in the Christian. As St. Paul affirms: “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faith, gentleness and self-control” (Gal. 5:22). Seeing such effects, a person can be sure that Jesus is risen.
Love: A person serves God, Who has loved first, and does good to others, without conditions, for the sake of love for God. Joy: A person is conscious of an exultant feeling that is rooted in the God’s deeds. Peace: A person lives in harmony interiorly and with others, thanks to relationship with God. Patience: A person is calm with confidence in God, despite being in difficult and disturbing circumstances. Goodness: A person, imitating God, shows the kind of sensibility and care toward others that promotes their well-being. Kindness: A person is kindly disposed in relationship with others, as God is in Christ. Faith: A person entrusts self absolutely to God who is revealed in Christ. Gentleness: A person, like Christ, shows consideration that never wants to offend anyone. Self-control: A person masters self by the power of the Spirit of the Risen Christ.
