Living in this way, (the Crosier) will give prophetic witness to his contemporaries (Profile of the Congolese Crosier).

Who are the contemporaries?

--confreres and other religious who are exposed to all kinds of moral theories and temptations;

--the clergy of the Church whose ministry often leaves them vulnerable;

--Christian and non-Christian families who struggle to stay faithful to their healthy traditions or who abandon themselves to the decadent and capricious ways of their neighbors;

--young people whose ears of full of sounds and whose eyes are wide open to shows that orient them toward the erotic;

--adults with lax values who betray their marriage vows and divorce;

--those responsible for the media who make decisions that form or deform the values of their publics;

--the purveyors of pornography who poison the minds and hearts of the weak;

--heads of government and politicians who promote social programs that diminish human dignity.

To what prophecy does the example of the chaste Crosier witness?

--“I have placed before you life and death . . . Choose life that you and your posterity might live” (Dt 30:19).

To speak the truth is to be healthy.  (Ivory Coast)
